Meet “Chanel”

I go by the name Chanel Hughley, well not really. It's my way of keeping folks from work out of my business.  You see I wrote a book called "When His Mistress is His Mother," it’s a deeply personal memoir of my journey through the ups and downs of love, marriage, and how I rebuilt my life after divorce.

Here's my story.

It all started with James.  He was so fun and handsome.  He seemed to have all the things a girl could want in a life partner – things like a kind heart, a home, a stable job and reasonable dreams for the future. The fact that he was never married and had no kids was just the icing on top.

We dated and eventually got married.  Like any couple, we faced the usual challenges balancing love and expectations.  There was just one significant thing.

James wasn’t just a loving son.  He was an extreme mama’s boy raised to be completely reliant on Delaney, his ever-present mother.

It didn’t take long for our marriage to unravel.  When I found the courage to start talking about my struggles in marriage, other women started sharing stories of their own.

That’s why I wrote When His Mistress is His Mother. I hope that women—whether single, separated or divorced—will build new, exciting lives for themselves and their children.

Follow me as I share powerful tools and inspiration for women contemplating divorce, finalizing paperwork, or ready to embark on a new chapter in their lives.

I’m with you.
